InfanT Program Supervisor

Job Title: Lead Teacher
Hours of Work: Full Time (40 hours/wk)
Reports to: Program Director

General Statement of Duties: The Infant Program Supervisor (IPS) provides warm and responsive care to infants aged 6 weeks to 15 months. This includes appropriate and responsive care-giving, implementing infant curriculum and activities, and maintaining a safe, clean and attractive environment based on NAYEC guidelines.  

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the infant room team and serve as a model for support staff. Manage scheduling within your classroom. Provides for the individual and group needs of all infants in your classroom. 

  • Provide consistent, caring, sensitive and responsive interactions with infants. 

  • Adhere to all Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE,) Boulder County Public Health (BCPH,) and Colorado Early Learning Licensing Administration (DELLA) rules and regulations for child care facilities.  

  • Implement infant curriculum and assessments. Conducts family-teacher conferences and transition meetings at least semi-annually. 

  • Communicate and work with families in a warm, approachable and supportive manner. 

  • Consistently improves skills, expertise, and credentials by participating in continuing education and professional development. 

  • Performs other duties as required and necessary to ensure the success of BDN. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Effective time management skills, particularly the ability to juggle and prioritize the needs and requirements of children, families and staff. 

  • Strong organizational skills and completing required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner. 

  • Excellent people skills; works well as a leader/member of a team.

  • May be required to repeatedly lift children up to 40 pounds and push/pull up to 70 pounds.

  • Passionate about the BDN mission.

Education: 

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required. 

  • Associates, Bachelors or Masters Degree in ECE is preferred. 

  • Completion of Expanding Quality of Infant and Toddler Care within 6 months of hire is required. 

Experience: 

  • Two or more years of experience in ECE and experience with infants. 

  • Experience with Teaching Strategies Gold and a personalized learning curriculum is preferred. 

  • A combination of education and experience may be interchangeable.  

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications: 

  • Must be qualified as an Early Childhood Teacher according to Colorado State Licensing regulations. 

  • Passing criminal history background checks will be required prior to the start of employment. Must be able to pass Colorado Central Registry and CBI criminal record checks and must have no prior convictions for child abuse, misdemeanors or felonies. 

  • Must be at least 18 years old and in good physical and mental health; must pass medical exams per licensing requirements.  

 Pay:

Infant Program Supervisor pay is commensurate with skills and experience ($24-25.50/ hour.)
